The "Annus Mirabilis - 30 years of Freedom" exhibition will be on display in Klaipeda between 9-28 September, in the Klaipėda’s Ievos Simonaitytės Library. The exhibition commemorates the events of the change of the Hungarian regime between 1988-90. On the opening ceremony speech was given by Ambassador Gábor Diczházi, Arvydas Česiulis, Deputy Mayor of Klaipeda, and Toma Gergelienė, Head of the Book lending Department.

At the opening ceremony, Gábor Diczházi spoke about the period between 1988-90, as a result of which a change of regime could happen in Hungary. He emphasized that the reburial of Imre Nagy on June 16, 1989 was a milestone on his way to Hungarian freedom. However, the reburial of Imre Nagy was not only a symbolic event, but a socio-political event that moved large masses. More than 250,000 people attended it, several regime change politicians spoke, one of perhaps the most important speeches was delivered by Viktor Orbán, the then opposition politician and current prime minister.

The Hungarian professional partner of the event was the House of Terror Museum, which, in addition to the images of the exhibition, provided additional video and images for the implementation of the opening event.
