On 27th of August, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade H.E. Mr. Péter Szijjártó visited Siauliai, Lithuanian military base for NATO's Baltic Air Policing mission. From May 2019 to August 2019 Hungary leads the mission: 92 Hungarian soldiers among them 7 pilots and 4 Jas-39 Gripen aircrafts serve at the base. 

 

 

Apropos of the visit, Mr Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade met with H.E. Linas Linkevicius Lithuanian Minister for Foreign Affairs as well: they discussed regional security issues, energy security, European Union related questions, Brexit, and the actualities of the Lithuanian-Hungarian bilateral econonomic relations. Hungary returns to Lithuania in the frame of NATO's Baltic Air Policing mission in 2022.
